The Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity competed Saturday in a ten team tournament. The girls continued the early season success with Kate Piper reaching the championship match in the singles bracket. Piper would end 3-1 on the day, and captured the 2nd place medal. Andie Veeder competed in the singles bracket as well, and ended the day 2-2 with a 4th place medal.
In doubles action the combination of Ali Dodd and Keegan VanPelt went undefeated on the day, and only dropped 5 total games on their way to a 1st place finish. Gabby Gorman and Anna Peard also competed in doubles bracket, and they would go on to finish their day with a 3-1 record, and a 5th place medal.
As a team the Varsity Girls would win the tournament with a total of 80 points. Congratulations to all the Varsity girls that competed.
While the Varsity were competing, the JV Girls were competing in the same tournament on the JV side. Micah Steele competed in the 1 singles spot, and ultimately would end the day with a 3-1 record, and a 2nd place finish. Emma Johnson would compete at the 2 singles spot, and would dominate the bracket, finishing 4-0 and taking home a 1st place medal.
The JV team would be represented by Riddhi Duvvur and Brenna Brown, they would end 2-2 on the day with a 4th place finish. Taylor Veeder and Olivia Slemmer would end 3-1 on the day on their way to a 3rd place finish.
As a whole the team would come up 3 points shy of winning the tournament as a team, but would finish 2nd overall as a team.
