Multiple Teams · Information RE: Summer Weights & Conditioning Program_07.07.20

Free State Community,

With the ever-changing environment, we have had to make adjustments to the 2020 Free State Summer Weights & Conditioning Program to ensure our alignment with the Governor’s office, the Douglas County Health Department, and the Kansas State High School Activities Association.  I ask that you please take a few minutes to review the information below and discuss it with your student-athlete(s).

Please note the most pressing issue is that, effective tomorrow (Wednesday, July 08, 2020), masks must be worn by all participants (student-athletes and coaches).  If a student-athlete does not have a mask when checking-in for a workout, he/she will be asked to leave campus for the day.  As stated in the attached document, the masks will be removed at the start of the workout, and put back on (and remain on) until an individual gets in his/her car.

I sincerely appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we continue to work through and adjust to government-issued orders.  I ask that you please continue to reinforce the importance of wearing a mask, social distancing, and hand washing to your student-athlete.  Without the collective effort of implementing these steps into our daily life, sports for the 2020-21 school year may not occur.
