Multiple Teams · Firebird Wrestlers Tame Wildcats and Move to 3-0 on the Season

The Free State Firebird wrestlers traveled to Holton, KS on Thursday and moved to 3-0 on the dual season with a convincing 53-18 victory.  Leading  the Boys team for the Firebirds with pins was Nolan Bradley (106), Caleb Streeter (138), and Austin Burenheide (182).  Eric Streeter, Ezra Birdashaw, Jett Barton, Zack Shepley, Ben Mellenbruch, Laythan Biddle, Matthew Marcum, and Cole Rorick also claimed wins in the dual, with Biddle (freshman) coming away with a dazzling upset against 2020 State Qualifier Jadyn Fletcher in a thriller 5-3 overtime match at 160#.

In the Girls division, Mady Gray and Clare Benton both recorded (2) pins each to go 4-0 on the evening.

The Firebird grapplers have a week off from competition and will next travel to Basehor-Linwood High School on 12/11 for a quad with BLHS, Burlington, and Louisburg.  That action can again be viewed via live stream on next Friday.
