The Free State Varsity Tennis team hosted their first quad of the 2021 season on Tuesday afternoon. This year’s quad included Mill Valley, Olathe Northwest, and Blue Valley West. Free State’s doubles pairing of George Thornton and Ben Melvin went 2-1 on the day and took 2nd place overall just behind the Blue Valley West pair. On the two doubles side, Minh Vu and Jake Hedges started the day 2-0 before dropping a tough match in a tiebreaker to the 2 doubles team from Blue Valley West.

On the singles side of the event, Britton Snyder went 0-3 in a stacked 1 singles field. In the 2 singles spot, Jared Loos went 2-1 on the day and captured a 2nd place finishing.

Overall, Free State took 2nd place overall. The Varsity team will be in competition on Thursday in a dual against Olathe East.
