Girls Placed 2nd and Boys Win Olathe Class Races

The girls’ cross country team took a close second to St. James Academy, and the boys team won the title at the Olathe Class Races. The boys narrowly defeated the defending state champions from Olathe East. Freshmen Brock Cordova and Sophomore Charlie Johnson won individual titles in their respective races.

The boys All Class Football team won big in their first game Saturday morning 41-24. Behind touchdowns from Jaxson Webb, Malachi Starr, Marcus Preston, and Jaxon Malone the firebirds were able to light up the scoreboard. The freshman football team played SMW on Thursday evening and dropped a close contest 14-16.  Turnovers hurt the Firebirds by giving up a fumble and an interception in the first half that led to 16 points for the Vikings.  The Firebirds shutout the Vikings in the second half.  Tyler Bowden rushed for over 100 yards
