Parents Tennis Meeting

Parents, There will be an informational meeting on February 18th @ 6pm in the Free State library. This meeting is directed to anyone who thinks their child may be interested in playing tennis this spring. Please email me at if you have any questions or concerns. Coach Clark

Mandatory Boys Tennis Meeting

There will be a Boys Tennis meeting for anyone interested. The meeting will be held in room 516 on January 23rd at 2:35pm. The meeting will last for about 15 minutes, and it will allow me to provide you information regarding the new physical process, tentative schedule, and the first week of practice. Please see

JV Tennis Wins Dual

The JV tennis team competed at SMNW on Thursday afternoon in a dual format. In the doubles round, Free State went 8-1, and they followed that up with a 13-5 singles round. JV Tennis Wins Dual Against Washburn-Rural

JV tennis competed against Washburn-Rural in a dual at Free State High school on Tuesday afternoon. Free State won the doubles round 5-3 over Washburn, and followed that up with an 8-6 victory in the singles round. JV Boys tennis will hit the courts again on Thursday afternoon at SMNW.

4/3 Varsity Home Quad and JV Dual rescheduled

Tuesday’s Varsity Quad at Rock Chalk has been rescheduled for April 12th at 3:30. Free State still anticipates hosting that meet at Rock Chalk Park. Tomorrow’s┬áJV Dual has also rescheduled for April 12th at 3:30. SMNW is still hosting that Dual. Please contact Coach Clark or Coach Torbett for any questions regarding these two meets.

Free State Competes at Emporia

Boys Varsity and JV team competed over the weekend at an 8 team tournament in Emporia. Sawyer Nickel finished the day 3-1 with a 2nd place finish. The combination of Trey Melvin and Erik Czapinski went 3-1 on the day and finished 5th in the bracket. Jack Kelsey opened the day with a win against

Varsity Tennis Complete Sweep of KCC

Varsity Free State tennis started their season off with a sweep of Kansas City Christian. The Varsity boys went 4-0 in doubles, with Erik Czapinski and Trey Melvin beating KCC’s #1 doubles 8-0. All other doubles teams dominated their matches as well. At the singles spot Sawyer finished the dual off with a 8-6 win
